You’re a reflection of whatever is taking your attention. In other word, you look like what you look at. For instance, if you keep looking at failure, you will look like failure. The Bible admonishes us to look unto Jesus. When you look at Jesus, you will definitely look like Him. Jesus is a victor, He’s full of wisdom, light, life, vigour etc.

2Cor. 3:18 says “But we all with open face BEHOLDING as in a glass the glory of the Lord, ARE CHANGED INTO THE SAME IMAGE from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”(Emphasis mine).

Note the the sentence “..are changed into the same image.” If you really want to be like Jesus and live on the planet earth as He is in heaven (1John4:17) and also live a victorious life, you must shift your gaze away from every other thing calling your attention and focus your gaze on Jesus. Jesus is the word personified. Therefore, look daily at the mirror of God’s word so you can reflect what the Word says you are. If you keep looking at that sickness, that challenged child, that unending bills etc, they will all remain, as there is little or nothing you can do about them. Instead, look at what the Word says concerning them, settle down with the word and believe every statement of the scriptures. For instance, concerning our health, the Bible says “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.” Concerning you and your children, the scripture says you are for signs and for wonders. Let the word of God rule your heart and soon you’ll become what the Word says you are.

However, it takes a regenerated mind to access and comprehend the Word (1Cor. 9:14). The Word isn’t just a means of communication. The Word is God Himself. The Word is Spirit and life (John 1:1-3,14; 6:63). Anyone can access the letter but it takes a Spiritual man to access the spirit-word. It is the spirit-word that transforms, the letter kills, the letter produces nothing even if you look at it forever (2Cor.3:6) Therefore, for anyone to make the most of the word, the veil has to be removed so that your eyes and understanding can open to see as God wants you to see. 2Cor.3:18, Luke 24:29-31,45.
