The Only True Connection.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Ps 20:7(KJV)

Connection in this context means a relationship in which a person is linked or have direct access to another person(s) usually for support, assistance or help.

Everyone is usually limited in one way or the other and most times looks up to a higher placed person for assistance or help.

In our bible text, David placed his full trust and confidence in God, even though others may trust in horses or chariots.

Most often, some people tend to put their trust in a man; perhaps to get connected or linked up for special ‘favour’. Trusting in man’s connection most times fails, and even peradventures works out may be for a short period.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Prov 3:5(KJV)

Trusting in the Lord with all of one’s heart makes a man tolerate zero percent trust in a man.

12And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:13 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.14 But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:  Gen 40:12-14

In  Genesis 40:12-14, Joseph interpreted the dream of his fellow prisoner who was the King’s butler. He told the butler he will be restored back to his position based on the dream he had. Then Joseph told the butler to remember him and mention his case before the king when he gets restored;perhaps the king will be merciful to him and get him released also. Though Joseph was looking up  to the butler to help him get his freedom too but the butler forgot Joseph as soon as he got released and restored back to his position.

A man recently told us about an uncle who was a colonel in the Nigerian Army he hadn’t seen for about two decades because he was serving in another state. Fortunately, the Colonel sent his mobile number to this man to call him since he would be in Lagos(Perhaps to help or assist him in a way)

In excitement, this man was calling the uncle(A colonel) but the number was not going through only to be informed that the uncle had died.

Who is that man you have been putting trust in, maybe for a connection, help or assistance? It is high time you shifted your gaze and focus on God. He is the only one who will never fail and his connection is sure and will last.

Shalom!
