A LESSON TO LEARN FROM “THE TITANIC”

You should read this Message from Bishop Dag Heward-Mills

The Titanic was presumed to be the largest, safest and strongest luxury ship in the world before it embarked on its disastrous maiden voyage in April 1912.

All kinds of people were welcomed on the ship for its first voyage.

The rich, the famous, the elite, women, children, families and staff of the ship were all happy to be on board.

It was billed to be the ship that could not sink, but it did sink on its first journey from Southampton to New York.

SPIRIT MEAT DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY REV&REV(MRS) OLUSOLA AREOGUN JUNE 3, 2017

The word of God cannot return to Him void because He will work all things together for your good, Isaiah 55:10-11. The biggest problem is you cooperating with Him. Nothing can cancel His prophecy. When God speaks, that word will not return to Him void but you will determine whether it is you or someone else that will live out that prophecy.

RCCG JUNE 2017 HOLY GHOST SERVICE

THEME: ABBA FATHER 5

ZONAL PRESENTATIONS

A) FIRST PRESENTATION

SOUTH-EAST ZONE (ENUGU)

TOPIC: ABBA FATHER – PART 5

BIBLE PASSAGE: Rm. 8:14-17

MINISTERING: Bro. Samuel

  • In Scriptures, names reveal the nature and character of God

Abba in Hebrew means FATHER.

God is the Creator of everybody but not the Father of everybody. Jn. 1:12

Only few know God as Father – Heb. 12:2

Jesus had the revelation of God as Father – Jn. 5:30, Jn. 10:30.

The Implications of God as Abba Father

  1. We have the nature of God

Everything produces after its own kind. Hence, every child of God has the nature of God and hence, a god- Lk. 15:1.

Sickness, poverty, barrenness and every evil is not in the nature of God.

  1. He loves you beyond your imagination.

GOD OF ALL POWER

TEXT: JEREMIAH 32:16-25

KEY VERSE: “Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee” (JEREMIAH 32:17)

Some fifty years ago, an orphanage being run by a widower in Scotland temporally ran out of food and funds. The man believed in the omnipotent power of our benevolent God and so gathered the children to pray to God to provide bread for them. They closed their eyes to pray. While the prayer was going on, a baker’s van loaded with bread on its way to another city several kilometers away broke down near the orphanage.

CONSEQUENCES OF SEXUAL SIN

‘SEXUAL SIN’

Access to your body is a sacred thing and once you make it loose, you lose your destiny as well. More than any other problem that people have brought, the one that is so complicated and cause trouble for women is that one in the mouth and the hole under, the vagina. Unto every womb, there is gateman assigned from heaven. If you push off the gateman and you allow just anything to happen there, the ball is in your court.

Reuben lost his destiny because of sex. It is time for most of us to understand that the whole of life is not sex and one of the most terrible statements ever made to somebody was made to Reuben (Genesis 49). Reuben was supposed to get double inheritance, he did not get any. He was supposed to get good things, he didn’t get any. What made Reuben not to achieve his destiny is what we want to look at now. Genesis is the book of beginnings. When you want to know the origin of a thing, go to the book of Genesis. Genesis 49:2-4 “Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father. Reuben, thou art my first born, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:

Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.”(he slept with his father’s wife).

The Divine Factors in Human successful achievement.

THE DIVINE HUMAN FACTORS IN SUCCESSFUL ACHIEVEMENT

Genesis 1: 28; Deuteronomy 28: 13; Daniel 1: 20

It is clear that God’s original intention from the beginning was for man to succeed. He said “Ye shall be the head and not the tail” (Deuteronomy 28: 13). In other words, God wants man to excel and be distinguished in all areas such that nothing will be able to stand on his way. Failure and mediocrity therefore contradict God’s plan for man. This is particularly true of believers in Christ (Psalm 1: 1-3). Apart from the general potentials for man’s success, we also have the additional promises of and provision for Divine help as children of God (2 Peter 1: 3). You therefore have all it takes to succeed. However, it is very important for every youth to know that they have a role to play to bring to reality God’s plan for their success. The need for desire, diligence, determination and dedication to success is very important in their quest for successful achievement.

  1. POTENTIALS FOR SUCCESSFUL ACHIEVEMENT

Genesis 1: 26-28; Psalm 139: 14; Ecclesiastes 3: 11; Psalm 8: 4-8; Philippians 4: 13

As a follow-up to His plan and purpose for man’s success, God has endowed every human with intrinsic abilities unavailable to any other creatures. These abilities are potentials capable of propelling you to successful achievement in any field of endeavour you choose. These include:

i. Super intelligence: Consisting of about 100 billion nerve cells, our brain is more complex than the greatest computers. The average brain can: i. Master dozens of languages, ii. Learn thousands of songs, iii. Memorize volumes of literature, poetry, Bible passages, etc., iv. Store and retrieve millions of information, v. Recall hundreds of past events, vi. Master dozens of different crafts, vii. Hold unlimited gigabytes of data, etc. These are highly beneficial potentials available for everyone.

ii. Special faculties: As humans we are endowed with the privilege of dexterity, i.e. superior ability to use our hands and fingers in skillful arts in contrast to other creatures. We also possess advanced communication and learning methods such as speech, reading and writing, etc.

MATCHLESS WISDOM!

TEXT :MARK 12:13-17

KEY VERSE: “And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him” (MARK 12:17).

*In addition to the revered divinity of our Lord, Jesus Christ, which floored His detractors, He also displayed matchless wisdom that constantly confounded the sophistry of the philosophers – teachers of His time.

BELIEVE AND DOUBT NOT

Memorise:

And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

Luke 1:20

Read: Luke 1:5-20

5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his course,

9 According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

10 And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.

11 And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.

13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb.

16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.

17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

THE REALM OF PROPHECY (1) – 1 TIMOTHY 1:18, ACTS 3:25-Rev&Rev(Mrs) Olusola Areogun June 1, 2017

There is a realm of prophecy that you must break into. Prophecy is God telling you about tomorrow with the certainty of yesterday. Prophecy from God carries the same power as history. Just like no one can rewrite history so also, no one can rewrite prophecy. While the former deals with the past, the latter deals with future. The only thing you can do is either to accept and believe it or neglect it. If you have no money in your bank account, but you have a prophecy, you own tomorrow.

DAILY MANNA

THURSDAY: 01 JUNE, 2017.

TOPIC: ESCAPE GOD’S FIRE.

BIBLE TEXT:

“For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.”

_____ (ISAIAH 30:33).

TEXT: ISAIAH 30:27-33 (KJV).

27 Behold, the name of the Lord cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:

28 And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.

29 Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the mighty One of Israel.

30 And the Lord shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

31 For through the voice of the Lord shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.

32 And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the Lord shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.

33 For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.

MESSAGE:

There is the story of a frustrated individual in a neighborhood, who wanted to take his life by burning himself. On an appointed day, the poor fellow set a bonfire which he intended to jump into when the burning was at its peak. With the inferno on, he went to sit down under the shade of a tree nearby.
