Let Us Reason Together!

Pastor Kenneth Hagin of blessed memory in one of his books told a story of of a lady, his church member who on one evening fellowship,  after the grace had been shared went to the altar and knelt down to pray. While waiting for her to round up her prayers as his manner was, he noticed that she was crying and saying “Lord, take it from me, Lord take it from me” After waiting for long, he went to the lady, tapped her by the shoulder and forced her to stop. Then he requested to know what she wanted the Lord to take from her and she showed him a snuff bottle.

Worshipping God in Spirit (2)-Edem Odiong

“Strip yourselves of your former nature (put off and discard your unrenewed self) which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion.

And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind (having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude).

And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image (Godlike)in true righteousness and holiness”. -Amp.

Another Look at ‘Pride’.-Edem Odiong

“These six things the LORD hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him.

A proud look.A lying tongue.Hands that shed innocent blood.A heart that devices wicked plans.Feet that are swift in running to evil.A false witness who speak lies; And one who sows discord among brethren.” NKJV.

The seven things the Bible says, that God hates (strong word), begins with a proud look or pride.

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. (Daniel 1:8)

Purpose, which is on the one hand, a reason for which something, and of course, somebody exists or made used, etc. and, on the other hand, an intended or desired result, end, aim or goal, is a key determining factor in the actualization of one’s dream in life.

Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,
Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.(Joshua 1:1-9).

The death of Moses came as rude a shock to Joshua and,of course,to the entire nation of Israel. To Joshua,it was like the world had come to an end. This is the man that he looked up to for guidance and mentorship. This is the man that he would take recourse to in times of difficult challenges. The man has left.

Wilderness Experience?

What does it mean to have a wilderness experience?

A “wilderness experience” is usually thought of as a tough time in which a believer endures discomfort and trials. The pleasant things of life are unable to be enjoyed, or they may be absent altogether, and one feels a lack of encouragement. A “wilderness experience” is often a time of intensified temptation and spiritual attack.

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.(Hebrews 10:38).

The genuine Christian life is a life that is lived against myriads of odds. There are a lot of forces that interplay in a bid to oppose the believing Christian from living and laboring for Christ.
