Before Breakfast: Luke 1:38

“And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the Angel departed from her”
The birth of Christ had been prophesied to be by a virgin. (Isaiah 7:14)
But it is interesting to note that it was not only Mary that was a virgin in Nazareth at that time but she was singled out.
Apart from the fact that Mary was from the ‘root’ of David, she was also obedient and submissive to the divine task given her to birth the ‘Messiah’.
Despite seeing how impossible it seemed to be for a virgin to get pregnant without sleeping with a man, she had belief and faith in God, thereby rendering herself for the service of God.
She never got concerned about the risk involved nor what consequences she tend to face, but she yielded herself and was obedient to the call.
To get called for the service of God is a great privilege which should not be taken with levity.
Submission and absolute obedience are key in yielding ourselves to His service; the reward thereby follow with ease!
The will of God may not coincide with what we want but, when we submit to HIS will, HE makes the best out of us.
