Open Heavens 22 April 2017: Saturday daily devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Prosperity Without Sorrow

Topic: Prosperity Without Sorrow [Saturday 22, April 2017]

Memorise: The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.Proverbs 10:22

Read: Deuteronomy 8:10-18 (KJV)

10 When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

11 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:

12 Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;

13 And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;

14 Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;

16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
17 And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.

18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

DCLM Daily Manna April 22, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi – Unconditional Love

Topic: Unconditional Love [Saturday April 22, 2017]

Text: Psalm 116:1-9

Key Verse: “I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications” (Psalm 116:1).

A popular children story named “The giving tree” speaks of the life of an apple tree and a boy. In the story, the boy was always coming to the tree because of what he could get at any stage of his life and after which he would leave the tree alone. The tree gave him apples, branches and trunk until she had nothing to give.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR PLACE – GENESIS 37:5-11, PROVERBS 27:8-April 22, 2017- Rev&Rev(Mrs) Olusola Areogun

Demo Image

If you will walk in the power of divine purpose, you must understand your place. The programme of God for your life is connected to places. There’s a place for everybody. There’s a place called “THERE” that you’re headed for, and you must know it and not try to fulfil your purpose in the wrong place.

The life of Joseph portrays this clearly to us that there is a place God planned for the fulfilment of your purpose. Joseph saw a vision of himself as a leader at the age of seventeen. He saw the sheaves of his brothers bowing down to his, but he had to discover where. Although Joseph was promoted to serve in the house of Potiphar, he recognized that that was not “the place”; he was still a houseboy in the house of Potiphar, if he tried to bring that vision to pass in Potiphar’s house he would have lost his headship.

Demo Image

There are three seasons of a life that will fulfill divine destiny and it is important that you know which season you are in so you can cooperate with what God is doing in you. The seasons are first, when you attain a height in the world; second, when God brings you into His process to make you; third is when you are manifesting the purpose for which God created you indeed.

DCLM Daily Manna April 21, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi – Reduce To Writing

Topic: Reduce To Writing [Friday April 21, 2017]

Text: Proverbs 25:1-15

Key Verse: “These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out” (Proverb 25:1).

Can you imagine a world without history, without writing and without documentation? Most important events and persons would have been lost forever! Today’s text starts with the introduction of how the entire chapter 25 of Proverbs came to be. It was copied out by the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah. The basic difference between divinely inspired truth and mere history is that all divine truths started out with the glory of God in mind and God was involved in moving men to write.

Topic: Backslider-In-Heart II [Thursday 20, April 2017]

Memorise: For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. – 2 Timothy 4:10

Read: Judges 14:5-10 (KJV)

5 Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.

6 And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.

7 And he went down, and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well.

8 And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion.

9 And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion.

10 So his father went down unto the woman: and Samson made there a feast; for so used the young men to do.

HEART STIRRINGS – JUDGES 13:24-25 April 20, 2017- Rev&Rev(Mrs) Olusola Areogun

It is high time you started studying how the Spirit of the Lord moves in you and with you. Recall that man is a tripartite being, that is, essentially a spirit that has a soul and lives in a body.

The born-again Christian now has a spirit that was made alive by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ so that the spirit of the born-again Christian has the capacity and ability to receive divine communication from the Spirit of the Lord and one of the ways that the Holy Spirit speaks to a Christian is through heart stirrings. A heart stirring is a divine move in your heart – an excitement, feeling all jumpy inside, a holy enthusiasm. If you’ll receive all that God has for you as a Christian, you must understand this type of Holy Spirit communication to your spirit

DCLM Daily Manna April 20, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi – Wrong Conclusion

Topic: Wrong Conclusion [Thursday April 20, 2017]

Text: Job 30:15-23

Key Verse: “For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living” (Job 30:23).

In the story behind great hymns, it was said of Horatio Spafford, the lawyer who wrote the song ‘It is well with my soul’ that he lost all his fortune and while recuperating, eventually lost his four daughters to a shipwreck. But the most painful part of the story was that his church wrongly concluded that the tragedies he faced, were as a result of divine judgment.

DCLM Daily Manna April 19, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi – When Afflictions Are Comely

Topic: When Afflictions Are Comely [Wednesday April 19, 2017]

Text: Psalm 119:65-72

Key Verse: “It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. The law of thy mouth is better…” (Psalm 119:71,72).

Nothing happens accidentally in God’s economy. Every event or circumstance that occurs to God’s children are ultimately for their good. Even in the seeming negatives of life, God uses everything to His and to our advantage. You probably must have learnt about Job. God used his affliction to bless and to train him. In this wonderful Psalm 119, the writer discovered that there is something good in his afflictions. He had said “before I was afflicted I went astray”.

Read: Judges 14:1-3 (KJV)

1 And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines.

2 And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife.

3 Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.

UNVEILING THE OPERATIONS OF SEDUCING SPIRITS (2) – LUKE 12:15-21 April 19, 2017- Rev&Rev(Mrs) Olusola Areogun

The operation of seducing spirits manifests in the devil and unclean spirits luring people away from their place in God through false breakthroughs.

3.      FALSE BREAKTHROUGHS: The most severe operation of seducing spirits is that of false breakthroughs. The devil knows that if he cannot lead a believer astray with pain and poverty he can give the believer the offer of a false breakthrough. The rich fool fell into that trap of the devil. The truth that God wants you to know in today’s Bible passage is to SEE THE END OF THAT RICH FOOL AS WHAT HAPPENS TO A MAN THAT ALLOWS BREAKTHROUGHS AND RICHES TO LEAD HIM AWAY FROM THE LORD.
